Do I need a special licence or vehicle to tow it?
No. The Dash 5 is road-registerable and designed to tow behind a standard utility vehicle. Transport dimensions are W 2050 x L 3750 x H 3000 mm.
How much fuel will it actually save?
On a real Queensland construction deployment, fuel consumption fell 100% over the first six months. Measured against the generator it replaced: $57/day matching a 10-hour run pattern, or $136/day ($952/week) since the trailer can run 24/7. Across the whole project, total fuel savings calculated to 93%.
What happens at night or in bad weather?
The battery carries the site overnight. If a run of bad weather or a demand peak means storage will not last, the energy management system starts the built-in 6 kVA generator, recharges, and shuts it down – and it can be locked out of enforced quiet hours entirely, running earlier instead if the predictive algorithm sees a shortfall coming.
Can it comply with site quiet hours?
Yes, and it has. On a site adjacent to a tourist resort with enforced night-time quiet hours, the generator recorded zero operational time during those hours across the deployment.
What can it power on a construction site?
On the reference project it powered five relocatable buildings – site offices, meeting rooms and staff amenities – plus communications, lighting and camera surveillance, around the clock. The site foreman reported no downtime.
What is the difference between the Dash 5 and the Dash 8?
Same trailer platform and the same 4.08 kW solar array, but the Dash 8 has a larger 8 kVA inverter (versus 5 kVA), double the battery at 20 kWh (versus 10 kWh) and a 32 A primary output. Choose the Dash 8 for higher-demand sites.
Is it suitable for emergency and disaster response?
It is arguably the best fit in our range. It needs no fuel resupply when roads are cut, deploys in minutes, is silent for evacuation centres, and is GPS-tracked so a council can see where every unit is and its state of charge before dispatch. Many organisations stage them ahead of cyclone season.
Can the battery be expanded?
Yes – additional 5 kWh batteries take it to 30 kWh in total, and an additional MPPT charge controller can be added via the expansion kit.
