It communicates wirelessly with your Maxxiom PowerBox or trailer, and in its default mode sends only surplus solar to your vehicle, so the house never loses the charge it needs for the night. Want to override it? Switch to manual or scheduled charging from the app. Type 2, up to 22 kW, with a 10 m cable included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really charge an electric car off-grid?
Yes – with a charger that understands your battery. In its default mode this charger only uses surplus solar, meaning power your battery cannot absorb because it is already full. Your household reserves stay intact and your car gets the excess.
Will it flatten my house battery?
Not in the default mode – that is exactly what surplus-solar mode prevents. It communicates directly with your Maxxiom system to know the real state of charge. If you override to manual or scheduled charging, you are choosing to draw from the system, so size your solar and battery accordingly.
Which Maxxiom systems does it work with?
It integrates with the PowerBox range and the Transportable Power Systems, communicating wirelessly peer-to-peer with the system.
How fast will it charge?
Up to 22 kW nominal at 32 A per phase, adjustable down to 6 A. Real-world speed off-grid depends on how much surplus solar is available – a big array will charge far faster than a small one.
What are the three work modes?
Automatic (surplus solar only – the default), Manual (charge now at your chosen current), and Schedule (charge in a set window, for example the middle of a sunny day). Switch between them in the app.
What cable comes with it?
A 10 m Type 2 charge cable is included. 15 m and 20 m cables are available as options.
Will it fit my car?
It uses the Type 2 connector, the standard for new EVs sold in Australia. Check your vehicle’s AC charging port if you are unsure.
Do I need a bigger solar array?
Probably – an EV is a significant load. Run your usage through our system sizing calculator including the EV charger, and our technical team can advise on the array and battery to support it.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Talk to us about your installation. Placement, mounting and cable run all matter, and installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician – which we can arrange in our service areas.
